The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

Mission Statement

The mission of The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is to provide financial assistance and supportive resources to individuals and families affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), with a primary focus on reducing the financial barriers associated with access to prescribed MS medications and treatment.

We believe that a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis should not prevent an individual from receiving the medications and care they need because of financial hardship. Through our MS Medication Copay Assistance Fund, we seek to help eligible individuals manage out-of-pocket medication expenses, while connecting them with additional resources that may help them navigate the financial challenges of living with MS.

Our goal is to give individuals living with MS greater opportunity to remain on their prescribed treatment plans, maintain their health and independence, and focus on living their lives rather than choosing between necessary medical treatment and everyday necessities.

At The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, we believe that MS may change the journey, but it should never define how far a person can go. The sky is the limit. ?

MS Medication Copay Assistance Program

Program Purpose

The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation will establish an MS Medication Copay Assistance Fund designed to provide financial assistance to qualifying individuals who are experiencing difficulty paying eligible out-of-pocket costs associated with prescribed MS medications.

The program will be designed to supplement, rather than replace, existing insurance coverage, manufacturer assistance programs, government programs, charitable assistance programs, and other available resources.

Our objective is to help address the financial gap that can occur when an individual has insurance coverage for an MS medication but still faces a deductible, copayment, coinsurance, or other eligible out-of-pocket expense.

How the Program Will Work

Funds raised by The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation will be placed into a designated assistance fund. Individuals who meet the program’s eligibility requirements will be able to apply for assistance.

Applications may be reviewed based on established criteria such as:

  • A documented diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
  • A prescription for an eligible MS medication.
  • Financial need or demonstrated difficulty meeting eligible out-of-pocket medication costs.
  • Appropriate insurance or other coverage information, when applicable.
  • Residency or geographic requirements established by the Foundation.
  • Availability of funds at the time of application.

The Foundation will establish written eligibility requirements and an application and review process to ensure that assistance is distributed consistently and responsibly.

How Funds Will Be Distributed

Rather than providing unrestricted cash payments to applicants, the Foundation intends for assistance to be used specifically toward eligible medication-related expenses covered by the program.

When practical and legally permissible, payments may be made directly to an appropriate pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, healthcare provider, insurance-related entity, or other qualified recipient on behalf of the approved patient. This structure helps ensure that charitable funds are used for their intended purpose.

Each approved applicant may receive assistance up to a predetermined annual or program-period maximum established by the Foundation. The amount of assistance available may depend on the applicant’s eligible expenses, demonstrated financial need, available program funds, and the Foundation’s established policies.

Assistance will never be guaranteed solely because an individual applies. Awards will be subject to program eligibility requirements and the availability of charitable funds.

Fundraising and Use of Donations

The Foundation will raise money through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events, grants, community partnerships, and other lawful charitable fundraising activities.

Donations designated for the MS Medication Copay Assistance Fund will be used to support the Foundation’s charitable objectives, including providing eligible medication assistance and the reasonable administrative costs necessary to operate the program.

The Foundation will maintain appropriate financial records and internal controls to document donations, program expenditures, and distributions.

Our commitment is to operate the program with transparency, accountability, compassion, and fairness.

Who We Serve

The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation seeks to serve individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis who face financial barriers to obtaining their prescribed treatment.

We recognize that MS affects people differently and that financial hardship can arise from many circumstances, including medication costs, insurance deductibles, coinsurance, loss of income, disability, transportation expenses, and other costs associated with managing a chronic illness.

Our program will focus specifically on the financial barriers that fall within the Foundation’s charitable purpose and the assistance programs we are able to fund.

Our Vision

Our vision is a future in which financial hardship does not become an additional obstacle for people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

We want to build a sustainable charitable resource that helps individuals access their prescribed MS medications while also providing hope, dignity, and support to families navigating the challenges of MS.

The Sky Is the Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation exists because no one living with MS should have to feel that their dreams, independence, or future have a financial ceiling.

Together, we can help lift that burden.

Together, we can make treatment more accessible.

Together, we can remind every person living with MS that the sky is the limit. ???
