Where This Foundation Began

The Sky’s The Limit Multiple Sclerosis Foundation began the year Skylar Carreker was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a year after finishing college. A five-mile walk with her mother, once effortless, became a struggle to finish a single block. Drop foot, fatigue, and an unexpected grief followed, along with a realization that few resources existed for people caught between having insurance and being able to afford treatment. That gap, more than anything else, became the reason this foundation exists.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide under-insured people living with Multiple Sclerosis with gateways to treatment through financial assistance, education, and advocacy. This illness can appear without warning and is entirely out of anyone’s control, and finances should never decide who receives care and who goes without. Every program we build starts from that belief.

Support Rooted In Atlanta

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, we built our first programs around our own community before expanding further. Our Multiple Sclerosis support Atlanta, GA, network connects patients with wellness instructors, counselors, and volunteers who understand this disease firsthand, offering the kind of Atlanta chronic illness support that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Who We Walk Beside

We serve anyone navigating a new or long-standing diagnosis, along with the spouses, parents, and children adjusting alongside them. Our family support for multiple sclerosis patients programs recognize that a diagnosis changes an entire household, not just one person, and our Multiple Sclerosis community support groups give every member of that household somewhere to turn.

What Guides Us

Every program we run rests on a few core beliefs: that grief deserves space during the multiple sclerosis grievance to acceptance process, that chronic illness guidance should be practical rather than abstract, and that we act with mindfulness, positivity, and optimism even on the hardest days. Above all, we believe support for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis should never depend on what’s in their bank account.

Where We’re Headed

As our reach grows beyond Atlanta, we’re expanding multiple sclerosis support group resources and Multiple Sclerosis awareness education into new communities, with the same goal we started with: making sure a diagnosis is met with real support instead of silence.

If you’re ready to donate to Multiple Sclerosis foundation work that changes lives across Atlanta and beyond, or simply want to learn more about our programs, we’d love to hear from you.
